16 years ago today, we lost a very talented musician, who was discovered, in part, by his rendition of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen.
RIP JB.
Needless to say, I was inspired by Jeff Buckley’s rendition of the classic by Cohen.
This was my first recording of this piece, done solely on my computer. I have since re-recorded this song professionally, but am unable to share that version on Soundcloud, so the original rough draft will have to suffice.
Without further ado:
“Hallelujah” in the style of Jeff Buckley.
Only, I sang it an octave higher.
The long Hallelujah at the end nearly killed me. Haha
This is an original song of mine that I wrote and produced in a couple of days time.
Lyrics:
Everything is gonna be just fine
So close your eyes and free your mind
Don’t you know there is a plan for everything?
You don’t always have to know
Every little detail,
Every part of the whole.
Just have faith, that it will unfold
The way it is meant to be.
Everything is gonna be just fine
So calm your heart and don’t you whine
I promise there is a higher purpose to this.
But in order for it to go as it should
You gotta give it space to grow,
Drop your expectations
Don’t you know they’re limitations
Better that it is the way that it is.
Everything is gonna be just fine.
So close your eyes and free your mind.
Everything is gonna be alright.
So calm your heart and don’t you whine.
Everything is gonna be just fine.
Everything is gonna be just fine.
That’s the way it is.
The way that it should be.
Just be free, yea let it be.
That’s the way that it is, my friends.
Now have peace, because you’re free at last.
You’re free at last.
You’re free at last.
You’re free.
The way that it is.
That’s the way that it is.

With every mistake, we must surely be learning.
I’m all about promoting self responsibility! Woo feel that weight lift from your shoulders? That’s called growing up and your inner child needn’t be sacrificed, rather it is quite the opposite.
Your inner child and higher soul are the same and you are you in the purest manifestation when you accept responsibility. Living in truth is truly living. Don’t hide behind excuses or displace your responsibility unto others, accept it as your own and you are already forgiven. Every body knows some body who is dodging bullets, evading the truth with procrastination and denial.
You know what I think?
It does not matter what circumstances are surrounding your present moment, only you can accept responsibility for you. No one else. Only you. The power is yours. Accept what you need to accept, learn from it, then let it go.
You will be rewarded Freedom from the self-imagined chains that bind you. Be free!

An original I will likely play with it a bit more - speeding it up, stuff like that. Feedback greatly appreciated!
Here is a song Norell did for fun recently, in between working on her book-which is nearly complete-and her EP. Enjoy!
I would like to comment on the marriage equality issue. First of all, I am bi and therefore obviously an ally. Don’t like that? By all means, you are free to remove yourself from my life, I won’t stop you. I support the trend going around to change your profile picture to make a stand, I haven’t done so myself because it feels as though we should be so beyond this sort of public protest. Why hasn’t love been endorsed and accepted for what it is? Love. Love is blind and God is Love, this means God has no prejudices, plain and simple.
I would like to say to all my religious friends, and don’t get me wrong, I respect everyone in their own right to worship or affiliate themselves with any given religion - you can even make up your own, that’s fine. But to all the overtly religious people shunning, “God says we should not do such and such”, let me correct you right here, right now. What we should and should not do are all words from man. Man has been passing judgements and playing God for far too long.
When God gave ALL humans free will, he thereby gave us the inherent freedom to love whoever our hearts draw us to. Love is Love, and if you cannot see that, then you are clearly gripped by fear and blinded by your beliefs. It truly is that simple. Just let go and let Love be what it is, Free.
Guess who’s nearly finished with her book? This girl!
